Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

One should never direct people towards happiness, because happiness too is an idol of the market-place. One should direct them towards mutual affection.

A beast gnawing at its prey can be happy too, but only human beings can feel affection for each other, and this is the highest achievement they can aspire to.

It was an interesting route to hit into “Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn“- as if, you can see what you want to see. Looks like I will have to dig his works more.

You only have power over people so long as you don’t take everything away from them.

But when you’ve robbed a man of everything he’s no longer in your power — he’s free again.

Visionary

Earlier this year, regarding moving forward w/ WordPress (.org)- I wrote the following in a comment:

“…it’s a complete mess! So much so that, those who maintains it not even dare to dive deep to fix it!! Spending years, I felt that, the problem lies as if- who will take responsibility for it? Skilled in ‘writing codes’ can’t solve it alone- it requires both visionaries, and tons of efforts from different skill range- it’s easier to keep escaping from it by fixing a things or two- and (kinda) wait for People to complain- so they can sort out these complaints to focus, and make ‘priorities’, and go forward somehow….”

This month, John Maeda joined Automattic as Global Head, Computational Design and Inclusion. Interestingly, today saw on Twitter John Maeda shared about Operators vs Visionaries.
